Terms and conditions

  1. The competition is being run and managed by Mitchell Shire Council
  2. One (1) entry per person (please submit one of the colouring or drawing sheets)
  3. Entry is open from 8am, Friday 16 April to 9am, Monday 7 June 2021 (AEST)
  4. Winner will be decided by a judging panel
  5. People aged under 18 years must obtain parental consent to enter
  6. Council accepts no responsibility for late, lost, incomplete or invalid submissions
  7. Council reserves the right to ask for proof of association
  8. Council has total discretion to remove an entrant if fraudulent entry or voting is suspected
  9. Failure by Mitchell Shire Council to enforce any of its rights under these Terms and Conditions of Entry at any stage, does not constitute a waiver of those rights
  10. Council reserves the right to ask for proof of age and association to the Mitchell area
  11. Entries may be displayed by Council during the competition period (personal details will not be included publicly)
  12. Entries may also be edited or modified for use by Council including third party platforms
  13. If the competition is being promoted on social media, this promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook or Instagram or other promotional platforms
  14. By entering the competition, you have agreed to all terms and conditions

Promotional period

  • Competition opens 8am Friday 16 April to 9am Monday 7 June 2021 (AEST)

Who can enter

  • Any person attending a preschool, primary school or secondary college in Victoria
  • People aged under 18 years must obtain parental or guardian consent to enter this competition
  • Mitchell Shire Council staff, contractors and Councillors immediate family are not eligible for entry to the competition
  • Immediate family includes the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de facto spouse, child or stepchild, parent, step parent, grandparent, step grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step brother, step sister or first cousin
  • Members of the judging panel and their immediate family are not permitted to submit an entry

Entry requirements

  1. Take a high resolution photo or scan of your completed colouring in sheet or an original artwork relating to the bug theme and load it through our online entry form
  2. Entries must include name, age, school, address, email address and phone number of the applicant and age where the applicant is under the age of eighteen (18)
  3. Entries received from individuals under the age of 18 must be authorised and signed by a parent and or legal guardian using the entry consent form available
  4. Your entry must be sent in one of the following file types JPG, PNG, GIF, or TIFF file
  5. Files cannot be larger than 10GB
  6. Please keep a copy in the highest resolution possible
  7. Entries must be the entrant’s own original work and must not contain any objectionable, profane, insulting, inflammatory or defamatory material, or infringe a third party’s intellectual property or moral rights
  8. Entries must be received by 9am, Monday 7 June 2021

Judging

  1. No names will be attached to the entries during judging
  2. The winner will be announced at 5pm, 21 June 2021 and advised by the contact details provided
  3. If there are no entries, Mitchell Shire Council reserves the right to hold the prize for distribution at a later date or as part of a similar competition
  4. All decisions are final
  5. If a winner cannot be contacted to accept delivery of prize by 5pm on 5 July, the winner will be deemed to have surrendered the prize and Council may opt to conduct further judging to award the unclaimed prize

Prizes

  1. There is one prize per category (preschool, primary school and secondary college) and one encouragement award available for the winning entry of this competition (four in total)
  2. The prize for each category is an illustrated educational children’s book, Leaf Litter by Rachel Tonkin valued at $20
  3. Council reserves the right to ask for proof of age and association to a Victorian preschool, primary school or secondary college
  4. The prize is not otherwise transferable or exchangeable
  5. No compensation will be payable if the winner is unable to use the prize in this form

Information Privacy Policy

Mitchell Shire Council are committed to compliance with its obligations under the Privacy and Data protection Act 2014 (Vic). All personal information (including images) collected by the Proponent and Mitchell Shire Council will be used for the Council’s business purposes and kept confidential except as permitted in the above Terms and Conditions of Entry. These details will not be disclosed to third parties unless the Council is required to disclose the information under other legislation or disclosure is necessary to complete the purpose for which it is sought. You may access information you have provided to the Council at any time and make corrections if you believe that information is incorrect.
