Placements for tertiary students

If you are a tertiary student undertaking an approved Youth Work or Community Services course, consider a student placement with our Youth Services team.

Participants learn what local government offers young people in Mitchell Shire.

Note: Work experience for secondary students is not available.

Placements are available for 3 to 10 hours per week. Hours of placement will generally be 2pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday at Youth Centres in Broadford and Wallan.

Block placements (9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) are negotiable for research projects or office-based placements only.

Priority will be given to students studying approved Youth Work courses.

How to apply

Note: you'll need to submit the form at least 1 month prior to your placement to ensure adequate time for the processing of your request.

We receive a lot of applications and cannot offer places to all students.
