National Tree Day

Unfortunately, our community National Tree Day community planting events, including schools will not go ahead this year due to COVID-19 . However this doesn’t mean that Council’s revegetation program cannot continue.

This year Council looks to continue with its revegetation programs albeit with contractors using locally sourced plants and materials rather than volunteers. This will help keep people employed during this time.

The Environment Team looks forward to re-launching National Tree Day 2021 with a few planned changes. To be more strategic we propose to focus on one large revegetation event rather than multiple planting sites and having an application process for schools.
