Permit to collect firewood from roadsides

Dead wood can be habitat for wildlife. It is illegal to remove dead trees, logs and branches from bushland reserves and roadsides without permission from Council.

Apply for a permit to collect firewood on Council land

To apply for a permit to collect firewood from Council roadsides:

  • fill out the 2020 permit application for firewood collection form — download below
  • provide a public liability insurance certificate to Council, covering you and Council
  • select the towns around which you intend to collect firewood
  • take your documents to any of our Customer and Library Service Centres and pay the fee

There are permit conditions that must be adhered to — see Permit Application for Firewood Collection Form below.
