Protecting our natural environment
We are committed to protecting our natural resources and run programs, projects and schemes to ensure best management of these resources.
Our Environment team also provides environmental advice to all Council departments as well as to community members and groups.

Managing environmental reserves and waterways
Our management of local bushland reserves and waterways includes on-the-ground works such as weed removal and revegetation, surveys of flora and fauna, working with local community groups, longer-term planning and awareness raising.
Trees are an essential part of the modern urban and rural landscape, providing significant economic, social and ecological benefits — having equal importance as water supply, roads and footpaths.
