Public art

Public art projects in Mitchell Shire are informed by the Public Art Policy. This ensures the community can enjoy public art they identify with and which speaks to the neighbourhood.

You may have noticed an increase in the art in public spaces across Mitchell. These projects including, sculptures and murals, enhance our sense of place and attract visitors.

Public Art Implementation Guide

For local artists creating work in public spaces, Council is compiling a Public Art Implementation Guide. This guide will help artists and organisations to consider community engagement, funding and maintenance schedules when planning art in the public.
