We conduct citizenship ceremonies for candidates who live in Mitchell Shire.
Successful applicants are invited to attend a citizenship ceremony as the final step in their journey to become an Australian citizen and to make the Australian Citizenship Pledge.
CitizenshipCeremony Dates and Locations
Each year a ceremony is held on Australia Day (26 January) at various locations within Mitchell Shire.
Three additional ceremonies are held every year in April, July and October at Broadford Shire Hall, 20 Murchison Street, Broadford.
Upcoming Ceremony Dates
- The next citizenship ceremony will be held on 26 January 2020 in Pyalong.
- Additional dates will be announced at a later date.
Mitchell Shire Council is not responsible for determining the date of your ceremony. That decision is made by the Department of Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs.
If you are unable to attend the ceremony on the nominated date, you should contact the Department of Immigration, Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs on 131 880 to make alternative arrangements.
