Understanding planning permits
A planning permit is required when you want to develop your land or change its use. Development can include earthworks and buildings. In some cases it also includes clearing vegetation. If you are not making changes, then you don’t need a planning permit.
A planning permit usually contains conditions that regulate how the land can be used or developed and has an end date when the planning permit expires.
It is important not to confuse planning permits with building permits. Building permits relate to the method of construction of a building or development.
