Discover Mitchell's tracks and trails
Mitchell Shire has a number of walking, cycling and horse riding tracks and trails that cater for all interests and abilities. Whether you want to explore a nature reserve, state park, town centre or sporting reserve, each trail brings a new experience.

Mount Piper Nature Conservation Reserve
Mount Piper Nature Conservation Reserve is located near Broadford and is accessible via Jeffrey's Lane. Mount Piper is a haven for local flora and fauna. It is also home to two exciting walking tracks:
- Mount Piper Summit Walk
Distance: 950m
Duration: 30 minutes - Mount Piper Circuit Walk
Distance: 3.2km
Duration: 60 minutes

Mount Disappointment
Mount Disappointment State Forest is an hour north of Melbourne and is located close to Wandong and Heathcote Junction. Mount Disappointment provides a beautiful haven for wildlife, visitors and associated recreation activities. In this area you can enjoy bushwalking, horse riding, four-wheel driving and trail bike riding. The Mount Disappointment walking tracks are listed below:
- Sunday Creek Reservoir Walk
Distance: 2km
Duration: 45 minutes - Strath Creek Falls Walk
Duration: 0.5km
Distance: 15 minutes - Summit Walk
Duration: 3.5km
Distance: 60 minutes
