Casual bookings

We require all casual users of our sporting facilities to make a booking. This includes:

  • school sports
  • one-off sporting events
  • casual organised activities
  • schools or sporting groups outside Mitchell Shire
  • pre-season training (seasonal fee observed)
  • finals

To book a sporting facility, go to our booking platform, Bookable. Our recreation officer will assess and approve your booking.

Season Bookings

To book a sporting facility for a set period of competition where teams play against each other on a home and away basis, you will need to observe the Mitchell seasons of:

  • Summer season — 1 October to 31 March
  • Winter season — 1 April to 30 September

If you are a regular seasonal hirer, you will receive an email from our recreation officer before the season opens. This will contain the password to book your season in Bookable. Our recreation officer will assess and approve your booking.

If you would like to apply for a seasonal booking, email recreation@mitchellshire.vic.gov.au.

Pre-season training

Sports clubs wishing to use a sports ground for pre-season training or practice matches must make a casual booking before such use. Please note maintenance works during the seasonal changeover period may impact sports ground availability/usability.

Finals

Hirers wanting to use their home sports ground for their finals training or competition must submit a casual booking through Bookable. No additional fee will apply to this use. A seasonal hirer’s use of their home sports ground for their finals training or competition will take priority over requests for pre-season training.
