Take a look at Broadford's newest playground
A $75,000 makeover of Broadford's Sutherland Reserve Playground has been completed.
The upgrade, funded by Mitchell Shire Council, includes junior and senior combination unit (two slides, climbing nets, climbing wall, climbing bars), triple swing (toddler, junior and basket), spinner, snowboard rocker, nature play area, seating, tree planting and landscaping.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson encouraged people to visit the playground a take a look.
“Before this upgrade, Sutherland Reserve was tired and in desperate need of a makeover," Cr Sanderson said.
“We asked our community what they’d like to see featured in their local playground, we listened and we have delivered a modern and inclusive space for the many young families that call Broadford home.
“One of the key objectives of our Council Plan is to build and nurture strong and vibrant communities where people are proud to live.
“This project is a fantastic example of that and will have so many positive impacts on our community.
“It will promote outdoor play and exercise, encourage people to connect and socialise, and will bring a real sense of town pride to the area.”
