Security cameras in Broadford

Broadford Community Precinct is now under lights following the installation of CCTV Cameras and light towers.

The new security measures are in place around the Broadford Living and Learning Centre, new men’s shed, community garden, police station, skate park and youth room.

The $112,000 program was funded under the Victorian Government’s Community Crime Prevention Program through a Public Safety Infrastructure Fund grant.

The lights will allow more access to the facilities on darker days, while a new mural was also created at the skate park to celebrate the upgrades.

Quotes Attributable to Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor David Lowe

“These new facilities will help bring peace of mind to the community groups who use the area and allow extended use of the area. These cameras will help prevent vandalism in the area,” Cr Chisholm said.

“These kinds of projects are very important for the community. Not only will we be able to make people feel safer in Broadford, but we can continue to prevent acts of crime in the municipality.”

“Mitchell Shire Council would like to thank the State Government for this investment into our community.”
