Budget-friendly school holiday activities

Whether you’re a budding singer, keen to perfect your freestyle, enjoy a game of skirmish or like to get creative, Mitchell Shire Council has a full schedule of activities on offer these school holidays that won’t hurt the hip pocket.

There are lots of free or low-cost activities at Council’s libraries, leisure centres and with our Youth Services team to keep children and teenagers entertained during the school holidays, which begin on 2 April.

If you’ve been jamming with your mates or fancy yourself the next Dua Lipa, check out the pop-up recording studio at the Seymour Flexible Learning Centre from 12-18 April. You can record original music, shoot a video clip and receive feedback from Universal Music Group.

Get your friends together for the ultimate game of hide-and-seek with Laser Skirmish on 14 April. Join the Mitchell Youth Services team for a fun-filled day for $10 which includes Laser Skirmish and transport from Broadford, Greater Beveridge, Kilmore, Seymour and Wallan.

If you think like an engineer, are good at robotics and able to think outside the box, our Goldberg Program might be just your thing. This STEAM program will be held at our Kilmore Library on 14 April and Seymour Library on 16 April.

Children aged 3 to 6 can get messy creating and painting Easter baskets at our libraries during the first week of the holidays.

Brush up on your swimming skills with intensive swim lessons at Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre and Kilmore Leisure Centre from 12-16 April. The Intensive Swim Program is a great way to boost your water skills with five, 30-minute lessons over 5 days for $76.50. Drop in our call your closest centre to enrol.
