Public Notice - Independent Member Audit Committee
Mitchell Shire Council is located on the northern outskirts of Melbourne and is one of Victoria’s fastest growing regional municipalities. We are currently seeking to appoint an independent member to our Audit Committee commencing May 2019.
The Audit Committee is an advisory committee to Council and has responsibility for advising Council on issues involving external financial reporting, internal and external audit, internal control and risk management, compliance and ethics, fraud prevention and corporate governance.
Candidates will have a broad range of skills and experience in a complex business environment relevant to the context of a growth Council. Accounting or related financial management experience with an understanding of accounting and auditing standards in a public sector environment will be well regarded.

Successful candidates will be paid a fee for attending/preparing for meetings. The Committee meets in Broadford or Wallan, a minimum of 4 times per year.
