Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor fitness equipment re-opening

Playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment and skate parks will progressively re-open from Tuesday 26 May following the easing of COVID restrictions.

We’re progressively opening playgrounds and other equipment starting tomorrow (Tuesday 26 May).

While we’d love to have them all open from day one, there is a bit to do to make sure they are safe and ready for you including cleaning and safety inspections. We’re starting with the bigger playgrounds and then working our way through the others.

Thanks for your patience and please remember, once they’re open, 10 people at a time and keep your distance (this increases to 20 from June).

If you’re using the outdoor fitness equipment, please leave space from other people who may already be on the equipment and please make sure you bring something to wipe down the equipment before and after use.

For a full list of service updates please visit our COVID-19 service update page.

Please note, BBQs and drinking fountains remain closed.
