Outdoor pool season splashing soon

Residents across Mitchell Shire will be able to dive right in to the outdoor pool season this summer with everything from Olympic lap pools to water slides available across the municipality.

Patrons can also access the Broadford Outdoor Pool, Seymour War Memorial Outdoor Pool and Tallarook Outdoor Pools easier with a season pass. Mitchell Shire will also take 20 per cent off each pass purchased before Monday 26 November.

The early bird passes will grant adults entry for $61.60 for the summer, child/concession/seniors tickets for $46.20 and a whole family of two adults and three children can enjoy the entire outdoor pool season for $110.40.

Pools are a fun, safe way to enjoy the warmer months. Mitchell Shire is an accredited Watch Around the Water facility which means your safety is paramount to our lifeguards.

Children under 5 years old must be actively supervised and within arm’s reach of a supervising adult, children between 5 and 10 years must always be supervised by an adult while all unsupervised children will be removed from the water for their own safety. With not long to go until the Outdoor Pools open on Saturday 1 December,

Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor Rhonda Sanderson said the region’s pools were a great way to cool off and have fun.

“Mitchell Shire has state-of-the-art facilities and it is fantastic we can open up our pools to residents through summer. It is a great way to stay happy and healthy,” she said.

“The pools are a great way to have fun and enjoy cooling down with friends without having to venture too far from home.

“Our staff are working hard each week to prepare for the pool season, and I thank them for their hard work. We are looking forward to kicking the season off.”

Council’s outdoor pools are open every day from 1 December when the forecast temperature is 26 degrees or above. The pools are closed on Christmas Day. The Community Bank® Adventure Playground and Splash Park at Hadfield Park in Wallan is free to use and is open from 10am-8pm through summer. The water will be switched on, Saturday 1 December.
