Mitchell Shire School Readiness Funding Announcement

Mitchell Shire has received $192,779 in funding for School Readiness, as announced by Mitchell Shire Council and Member for Yan Yean Danielle Green in Wallan on Tuesday.

School Readiness funding is a new, permanent part of Victorian kindergarten’s funding plan and will improve long-term educational goals for children throughout the municipality.

School Readiness Funding has been developed to support students in three priority areas:

  1. communication and language development
  2. wellbeing, social and emotional
  3. access and inclusion

Children throughout Mitchell Shire are individuals and learn and develop at different stages. This funding will ensure all children in each community have access to target high quality educational programs.

School Readiness funding will be rolled out through Victoria over the next three years.

Council would like to thank the Victorian Government for their support in delivering crucial community services.

“Council and the Victorian Government are committed to ensuring everyone has access to high quality education, so we welcome this announcement,” he said.

“Early learning is crucial for children across Australia and improving services is important to us. We will continue to work with our community, students and governments to enhance our educational system.”
