Mitchell business survey underway

Residential growth in the municipality is booming, and Mitchell Shire Council wants to ensure its businesses have every opportunity to continue to grow and thrive.

The Mitchell Business Survey is now underway, which will allow Council to learn more about the way businesses operate, and the results will inform what, how and when Council delivers business support through workshops, events and practical offerings.

Council is inviting businesses across the Shire to take part in the survey to help Council better understand the local business community and reveal insights into how business owners operate in the area and how the opportunities, and challenges, they face.

Mitchell Shire Mayor Councillor Bill Chisholm said Council’s focus was on business growth, collaboration and local job creation across all industry and encouraged all business owners to give their feedback.

“We are focussed on collaborating with stakeholders for business growth and local job creation across all industries,” Mayor Chisholm said.

“We’re looking to learn more about your business set up and staffing, what marketing initiatives your business has undertaken, or if there are any issues or opportunities that Mitchell Shire Council could be advocating for or providing assistance to support local economy.

“This survey will help everyone better prioritise projects and initiatives, as well as further develop and improve our business workshops, events and practical offerings. We will also be able to compare this data with previous data, to highlight any changes and emerging trends.”

Business operators have been sent login details to access the survey. If you have more than one business and the operating environment and circumstances are different, please complete one survey for each business.

The survey will be sent from Urban Enterprise, a specialist economic development and research firm, who is undertaking the survey on behalf of the Economic Development team at Mitchell Shire Council.

The survey is open until Friday 22 March. If you would like more information, or if you did not receive an email about the survey, please contact Mitchell Shire Council Business Development and Engagement Officer Claire Hahnel at or or on 03 5734 6260.
