Have your say on Ryans Creek Reserve stage two development

Grant funding has been received to deliver a stage two development at Ryans Creek Reserve in Kilmore.

A stage one activation project was completed in 2020 with key works undertaken primarily at the southern part of the reserve including a play space, basketball half court, shelter, BBQ, pathways and solar lighting.

This stage two project aims to improve linkages, amenities and functionality and activate the northern section of Ryans Creek Reserve.

A concept plan for the project has been developed and is now ready for community input.

It includes:

  • Accessible unisex toilet block (near existing play space and BBQ)
  • Reserve car parking (two locations – Pauline Way and Parkview Drive)
  • Pedestrian bridge and crossing
  • Linking pathways and solar lighting
  • Plantings and seating
  • Outdoor fitness equipment station
  • Youth space
  • Pump track

The $1,100,000 project received $900,000 from the Victorian Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund and $200,000 from Mitchell Shire Council.

A drop-in session will be held at the reserve’s play space from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Monday 28 November 2022.

You can also provide feedback by taking a short survey on the Engaging Mitchell website. Input closes 9am, Monday 5 December 2022.

Quotes from Mayor Bill Chisholm

We hope to see people come along to the drop-in sessions and or fill in the online survey to find out more about what these important projects mean for our communities.

We welcome and encourage input. This is a chance for people of all ages to have their say and make sure this project reflects our community's voice.

This project will play a key role in meeting the current and future open space needs of a rapidly growing and changing community.

We’re very thankful for the support from the Victorian Government because these developments wouldn’t be possible without the help of the Growing Suburbs Fund.
