Earthcore 2017 (June Council meeting)

A request for consent to host the 2017 Earthcore festival was presented to the June Council Meeting for consideration. The request for written consent was made outside the timelines of the permit, did not include all the plans required and was for dates that weren’t covered in the original permit. On advice, this means that the request falls outside of the consent provisions of the permit and Council has no authority to grant it. Even if Council did have authority to grant the request, it would be refused due to significant concerns about patron safety, illegal drug use, traffic management, security and noise that have not been addressed.

Railway Place road works minor disruptions

Pavement rehabilitation works in Railway Place in Seymour are due to commence on Wednesday 21 June 2017. The works are expected to take three days. Traffic control will be in place and bus stops in Railway Place will be temporarily relocated further along Railway Place during the works.
