Council is calling on its resident shutterbugs to showcase what they love about where they live by entering the MyMitchell Photo Competition.
The competition encourages people to get out and about in their community and capture what they love most about Mitchell Shire, with some great prizes up for grabs.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson said Council was keen to see what Mitchell looked like through the lenses of the community.
“We’re really lucky that there are so many beautiful things to photograph in Mitchell – from our renowned rolling green hills and the magnificent Goulburn River to bustling markets and our many historic buildings,” Cr Sanderson said.
“Our community takes great pride in where they live and this competition will be a great chance for people to express their creativity, get active and explore their own backyards, and share their favourite things about Mitchell with the wider community.
“There are a lot of talented photographers in our shire and it will be fantastic to see what they can capture – I don’t envy our community, who I’m sure will have a hard time picking their favourite.”
Photos can be submitted online until 5pm on Friday 8 June.
Shortlisted photos will be displayed on Council’s Facebook page for the community to vote for their favourite.
The photo with the highest amount of Facebook ‘likes’ will win a $100 meal voucher to spend at a venue of their choice in Mitchell Shire, plus have their winning photograph printed and framed.
Runners up will also receive their photo printed and framed.
There is a limit of three entries per person and entries will be used in Council publications and on our social media platforms.
