Join the friendly staff at Mitchell Shire’s Leisure Centres as they throw the doors open for two days of family fun, with opportunities to explore the centres’ aquatic facilities.
Family open days will be held at Kilmore Leisure Centre and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre in September and October.
The free events will give the community the chance to check out what services and facilities for all ages and abilities are on offer.
There will be plenty of things to see and do including Learn to Swim student races, open novelty races, parent and child races, pool inflatables, jumping castles, face painting, food and entertainment.
At the Kilmore open day, there will also be an underwater photographer available, where you can purchase pictures of your child.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson encouraged parents or guardians who were thinking of enrolling their children in swim lessons to attend an open day and see what was on offer.
“Swimming has so many health and wellbeing benefits – it’s great for fitness, it’s a fun social activity, and perhaps most importantly, it’s an extremely valuable and potentially life-saving skill for children to carry on into adult life,” Cr Sanderson said.
“If you’ve been thinking of enrolling your child in swim lessons, the open days are the perfect chance to take a look at the facilities on offer and have a bit of fun at the same time.”
For those who enrol in the Learn to Swim program at either open day, there is a special offer to receive the first five lessons for just $25.
The family open days are from 9am-3pm at Kilmore Leisure Centre on Sunday 17 September and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre on Sunday 15 October.
