Activity Trails

Mitchell Shire Activity Trails

Discover, explore and experience activity trails in every town across the Mitchell Shire. There are trails to explore with the family, walk the dog, ride your horse, stroll with friends, and even trails that can help you get to work.

Broadford offers a challenging 8km trail, along with plenty of shorter loop options. Parts of this trail make use of the redeveloped trail along the river - beautiful on a warm summer evening. In Kilmore, stroll or ride your bike along the Kilmore Creek, past Hudson Park and the Miniature Railway to a loop around the Sam DeGabrielle Reserve. A peaceful trail on the edge of town. Meandering beside the Goulburn River the Seymour Trail, is perfect to walk the dog, or take a jog with friends. Do you catch the train from Wallan each day? Why not walk or ride to the Station. Starting at Hadfield Park, the Wallan Activity Trail would be a relaxing start, and end to your day. And make sure you visit the Wallan Wetlands area with the kids, help them learn about naturally recycled stormwater. In Wandong the activity trail follows the Say G’Day trail, built after the Black Saturday Bushfires. The trail has a bit of everything, peaceful bush, a thigh burning hill climb, Heathcote Junction then an easy trip along Rail Street back to Wandong. Or take in part of Victoria’s longest Rail Trail, the Goulburn River High Country Rail Trail. Its southern trail head starts in the Mitchell Shire at Tallarook. Do as much or as little as you like.

All these activity trails are open and available right now in your town, or one close by, so get out in the fresh air and enjoy.
