Proposed Wallan Quarry

Our meeting is now available to watch back on demand.

Mitchell Shire Council has rejected a Planning Permit Application for the proposed quarry at 175 Northern Highway, Wallan for the use and development of land for stone extraction.

The application has been 'called-in' by the Minister for Planning who will be the decision-maker for the application.

Mitchell Shire Council will continue to oppose the application due to the impact it will have on our community and surrounds.

But Council can't do it alone.

Council facilitated an online community information session about the proposed quarry, with over 100 residents in attendance. At this meeting, Council was able to share information about the quarry planning process and took participants through the next steps of getting involved, if they wished to do so.

Council is now calling on the community to get involved to help stop the proposed quarry.
