Breastfeeding Support Drop-In Centres

The Mitchell Shire Breastfeeding support drop-in centres have moved to new facilities and extended their hours to offer the service in Wallan as well as Seymour and Kilmore.
The new venues, days and times will commence the week starting Monday 24 September.

The drop-in centres are now located in:

  • Wallan at the Wallan Maternal & Child Health Centre on Mondays from 9am - 12pm;
  • Seymour at 96 Café & Gifts, 96 Station Street, Seymour on Tuesdays from 1pm - 3pm and
  • Kilmore at Café Dinglish, 76A Sydney Street, Kilmore on Thursdays from 12pm - 3pm.

Each venue offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where mothers can come to have a coffee, meet other mum's, share their experiences, or talk about feeding with the MCH Nurse. The sessions are staffed by Maternal and Child Health Nurses who can give advice, support and help with breastfeeding concerns and queries.

No appointments are necessary and women can visit as often as they like and stay as long as they need.

The drop-in centres are a great way for local mums to meet and catch up with other new mothers in the area. Mitchell Shire women, who have had positive breastfeeding experiences and would like to support other mothers with breastfeeding, are invited to join us.

For more information, contact Mitchell Shire Council's Community Services Department on 5734 6253.
