- The Community Development and Community Services Departments provide for children, families, young people and senior citizens.
- Council's Recreation and Wellbeing Department provides open space, parks, reserves and sports grounds for residents’ use and enjoyment.

Council operates seven centres across Mitchell Shire in Seymour, Puckapunyal, Wandong, Wallan, Broadford, Kilmore and Pyalong. The Goal of the M&CHS is to promote healthy outcomes for children 0 - 6 years and their families.
Community Development
Community Development works to decrease social isolation and increase community connectedness. Community Development involves coordinating community activities and events that will build links between all sectors and individuals within the community.

Youth Services's primary function is the development and engagement of young people aged 12-25 years who live, study, work and recreate in Mitchell.

Mitchell Community Health Services is based in Broadford.
Centre-based services include Diabetes Education, Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Planned Activity Group (PAG), Podiatry and Speech Pathology.
Community-based services include Counselling & Support Programs, Drug & Alcohol Treatment Services, Nursing Services, Aged Services and Disability Access Services.
