The Business and Tourism Services Unit identifies tourism projects and initiatives that will enhance the Mitchell Shire as a preferred tourist destination.

It achieves this by encouraging the development of tourism infrastructure in the region; liaising with local tourism operators regarding the development of tourism in the region and promotional marketing activities; managing Accredited Visitor Information Centres in Kilmore and Seymour and assisting with the development of festivals and events in the Shire.

The Unit also undertakes cooperative marketing activities with local tourism operators and uses regional and state networks and resources to effectively promote the region.
