| Parks and Reserves | | Council’s Recreation & Leisure Unit is responsible for the maintenance and management of 11 recreation and sporting reserves, approximately 40 local parks and reserves and 10 public halls within the Shire.
Major environmental reserves within the Shire include the Australian Lighthorse Park and the Bushland Park Reserve, both located in Seymour.

| Leisure and Aquatic Facilities | | Mitchell Shire Council has six facilities that operate as a Mitchell Leisure Centre which include the three Leisure Centres in Kilmore, Broadford and Seymour and the three outdoor pools in Seymour, Broadford and Tallarook.
The Mitchell Leisure Centres conduct a range of programs and services that meet all ages and abilities in the community.
These include land based aerobics classes like; Step, Hip Hop, PUMP, Pilates and Yoga, Aqua aerobics, Seniors programs, teen gym and much more.
