The Mitchell Shire Council issues its Annual Rate and Valuation Notice in July/August each year.

Rates are calculated for the rating year which is the same as the financial year. Hence, the rating year begins on 1 July and ends on 30 June.

Mitchell Shire Council ratepayers can only pay their rates in four instalments. Instalment due dates are as follows:

1st instalment - 30 September
2nd instalment - 30 November
3rd instalment - 28 February
4th instalment - 31 May

If any of these dates fall on a weekend then the due date will be the next business day.
