Home>Welcome to the Mitchell Shire Council Website
This website has been a joint project between the Municipal Association of Victoria, AusSoft Solutions and the Mitchell Shire Council and is part of the LGOS (Local Government Online Service delivery project) funded by Networking the Nation (NTN) within the Federal Government Department - DCITA (Dept of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts). Mitchell Shire Council applied to the MAV for funding to have a new site built with a state-of-the-art content management systems trialled in the pilot projects. The original site was launched in July 2002 with this new site going live in April 2006.
Mitchell Shire Council is dedicated to improving its on line service to the community and those accessing this website for information and service provision.
To ensure the most up to date information is always available, this site is regularly reviewed. | |
| About The site is optimised for home use and graphics have been kept to a minimum to aid speed. The website has been designed to size dynamically, and is been viewed from screen size 800 X 600 upwards in Internet Explorer 5 upwards.
All content contained in the site has been created by staff from the Mitchell Shire Council.
The following details some of the great features about the site:-
Site Navigation The design of the site is simple and easy to move around in. Major services have been placed on the homepage so that you can easily access the information that you require.
Site index and search have also been included for those people who like to navigate a site in this way. The search facility allows for a simple search of all text within the site, or if you would like a more detailed search of the website including all PDF documents, simply tick for a "detailed search". The site index has every page listed for users who might like to use this method of navigation.
Printer Friendly A printer friendly button is available on each page of the website, use this when you need to print a page ast graphics and the website template are removed.
Employment and Tenders All tenders will be available on-line. In order to download the documents (in PDF format) you will be required to provide your details via an on-line form. We believe this to be necessary to ensure that all Tenderers can be notified if addendums are issued. Also, there may be instances where hard copies of information will also need to be posted to you (such as plans etc.) Tenderers can still request tenders in the traditional way (costs apply).
Accessibility The website has been specifically designed to ensure that it is compliant with worldwide standards for disability access. The site is W3C Level A compliant, with additional features from Level AA and Level AAA.
Powered By The website is powered by AusSoft Solution's WebComm system. It is a content management system based on a distributed authoring set-up. This simply means that staff across the organisation can author, approve and publish pages without technical HTML experience, helping to ensure that the site is kept up to date.
PDF Downloads We have attempted to keep PDF downloads to a minimum, however there are certain instances where PDF's are necessary. We have used Adobe Acrobat Version 4 for our PDF's and you can download Adobe Reader from this page.
Customer Request We'd appreciate any feedback you may have about the website. A Customer Request form is available via the homepage.
